Ceramic Braces

Want to get braces done but loathing the metallic appearance of it!
No need to worry!!
In today’s time the technology  and recent advancements have brought up a solution for it as well which are ceramic or tooth colored braces.

What are clear/ceramic braces?

What are clear/ceramic braces?

These are just like metal braces but the advantage is that they are tooth colored and hence esthetically more pleasing.
They work in a similar way to metal braces and help in bringing the desired tooth movement required for tooth alignment

Who all can get clear braces?

Ceramic braces are recommended to those who-

  • Skeptical about conventional metal braces
  • Forwardly placed teeth
  • Irregular/crooked teeth
  • Gaps in teeth
  • Abnormal bite

Advantages of Ceramic Braces:

  • The arch wire can be "tooth" colored to blend with your teeth, making the braces unnoticeable.
  • They don’t demineralize tooth enamel, so the braces stay fixed throughout their use.
  • Ceramic braces are more comfortable than traditional metal braces.
  • The smaller, rounder brackets and ceramic material are less likely to hurt or discomfort the gums.

Disadvantages of Clear Braces:

  • The major drawback of ceramic/clear braces is that they get stained/colored easily which means they take up the color of food materials or get yellow with time.
  • Also proper oral hygiene has to be maintained with these braces.
  • Do get a dental check up done and visit a braces specialist to know more about clear braces!!
